Dr. Stephen F. Carver, Optometrist

Dr. Carver has lived in Santa Fe and served the eyecare needs of the Santa Fe Community for over 20 years. He is a 1972 graduate of Southern College of Optometry, in Memphis, Tennessee. He was in private practice in Bentonville, Arkansas, before being commissioned in the U.S.P.H.S. Indian Health Service. He served on reservations in South Dakota and Arizona, and transferred to the Santa Fe Indian Hospital in 1980. In 1985 he joined a surgical ophthalmology practice in Santa Fe, and later a private optometry practice. Dr. Carver was pleased to open his new office at the Allegro Center in December 2000. Dr. Carver is Board Certified and Licensed by the State of New Mexico in Ocular Therapeutics. He is a member of the New Mexico Optometric Association, and American Optometric Association.

Dr. Carver is married to Laura Carver, who is a pharmacist. They have two children, Lindsay and David.

Dave Conaway, Optician

Mr. Dave Conaway is our Office Manager. He is also an Optician who specializes in utilization of the state of the art EPIC-2100 wave front refracting system. Dave has been associated with Santa Fe Eyes for 8 years. His professional expertise assures quality service in our medical, optical and contact lens departments.

Stephanie Watkins, Optician ABOC

Ms. Stephanie Watkins is a board certified Optician by the American Board of Opticians. She has expertise in the selection and styling of eyewear frames and lens materials. Stephanie has 12 years of experience in the optical field.

Terri Ortiz, Optician ABOC

Ms. Terri Ortiz is a board certified Optician by the American Board of Opticians. She has 15 years experience in the eyewear frame and lens material selection. Terri is a native of Santa Fe.

Evelena Ornelas, Contact Lens Technician NCLE

Ms. Evelena Ornelas is a NCLE Certified Contact Lens Technician. Her expertise is in contact lens management. She educates patients about contact lens optics and materials. Evelena instructs patients on insertion, removal, and care of their contact lenses.

Valerie Vigil, Receptionist

Ms. Valerie Vigil is our Receptionist. She assists our patients with appointments and insurance authorizations. Valerie received her certificate from "Optical Bootcamp" in October 2008.

Tina Gomez, Optician ABOC

Ms. Tina Gomez is an optician certified by the American Board of Opticians. She performs vision pre-screening and assists eyewear and lens selection.
